NO BAKE CHERRY RUM BALLS 
2 lbs. 8 oz. vanilla wafer crumbs
2 c. powdered sugar
2 c. nuts, chopped fine
2 c. coconut
1/2 c. corn syrup
1 c. dark sweet cherries
1 c. dark rum OR
1 1/2 tsp. rum extract

If you use the rum extract, add 3/4 cup orange juice.

Drain cherries well and chop. Thoroughly mix all ingredients except powdered sugar. Shape into 1-inch balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Makes 100-125 balls. Store in covered container. These cookies age well.
