LAYERED APPLESAUCE DESSERT | |
3/4 c. rolled oats 1/4 c. flaked coconut 1 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. butter Dash of cinnamon 2 c. (16 oz.) unsweetened applesauce 1/2 c. thawed whipped topping Combine oats, coconut, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon in 1-quart microwave- safe mixing bowl. Microwave (high) uncovered 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 minutes or until coconut is lightly browned, stirring 3 or 4 times. Cool. Place about 1 1/2 tablespoons oat mixture in the bottom of 6 dessert dishes. Add 1/3 cup applesauce to each. Top each with remaining oat mixture (about 1 1/2 tablespoon each). Refrigerate until served. Top each with a spoonful of whipped topping just before serving. The oat mixture is also good served as a topping on ice cream or pudding. |
