2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. mashed ripe bananas
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi sweet chocolate pieces (melted)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda in medium bowl.

In large bowl beat shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until creamy. Add the flour mixture to shortening mixture and stir until blended. Stir in banana and chocolate until well blended. Drop by heaping teaspoons 1 1/2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. If you love chocolate and bananas you'll love this recipe.
