MAPLE SUGAR BARS 
1 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup maple sugar (crushed)
2 eggs, beaten
2 tbsp. milk
4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening, add granulated sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Cream in maple sugar. Add beaten eggs and milk and blend well.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt and add gradually to creamed mixture.

Spread mixture on greased baking sheet (11x17x1-inch).

Bake in moderate oven (375°F) for 15 to 20 minutes.

While hot cut with sharp knife into strips.

Makes 4 dozen cookies.
