JANE'S BLACK WALNUT POUND CAKE 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. regular sugar
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
3/4 to 1 c. black walnut kernels

Cream sugars, butter and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Sift dry ingredients together. Alternate with flour mixture and milk, mixing well. Then add vanilla. Mix well, then pour into a greased and floured tube cake pan. Cook, starting in cold oven, at 325 degrees for about 1 hour and 10 to 20 minutes depending on how hot your oven is. Do not over bake, it will be dry. I use the cream cheese icing and top with black walnuts.
