COCONUT BLACK WALNUT POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. salad oil
4 eggs, beaten
3 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. black walnuts
1 c. coconut
2 tsp. coconut extract

Combine sugar, salad oil and eggs. Mix until well blended.

Combine flour, soda, salt, baking powder; add to sugar mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Beat well after each addition.

Stir in black walnuts, coconut and coconut extract.

Bake in greased and floured 10 tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

GLAZE:

Combine 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, 2 teaspoons butter. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 tablespoon coconut extract. Pour hot syrup over cake. Allow cake to remaining in pan 4 hours.
