MOTHER'S CHOCOLATE DOUGHNUTS 
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. melted shortening
1 c. milk
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 heaping tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour and add more until the texture to handle to roll

Roll to 1/2 inch. Cut with doughnut cutter and drop into hot fat. Turn once during the frying process. Drain on paper towel and roll while warm in granulated sugar. Makes about 3 dozen.
