GLAZED CORNED BEEF | |
4 lb. corned beef (brisket) 1/2 c. chopped onions 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 whole bay leaves 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. mustard Place beef in Dutch oven and barely cover with hot water. Add garlic, onions and bay leaves. Cover, simmer 3-4 hours, until tender. Remove meat. Spread fat side of meat lightly with mixture of brown sugar and mustard. Bake in shallow pan at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. If desired, potatoes, carrots and cabbage wedges can be cooked in same water after removing meat. |
