TAMALE PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. dry minced onion
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
1 can (38 oz.) tomatoes cut up
1 can (17 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 c. sliced pitted ripe olives
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. chili powder
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. cold water
1/2 tsp. chili powder
2 tbsp. butter

Brown ground beef, add remaining ingredients except cheese. Simmer for 20 minutes until thickened. Make crust by combining cornmeal, salt, water and chili powder in saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly until thick. Add butter. Spread half of crust mixture over bottom of a 13x9x2 inch pan. Add filling. Spoon on remaining crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Top with cheese until melted. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
