CARAMEL LAYER CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
14 oz. light caramels
3/4 c. melted butter
2/3 c. evaporated milk (small can)
1 c. nuts
1 package German chocolate cake mix
1 c. chocolate chips

Combine caramels with 1/3 c. evaporated milk. Microwave until melted. Set aside. Grease at 9x13 pan. Combine dry cake mix, butter, 1/3 c. evaporated milk and nuts. Put 1/2 of this mixture in bottom of pan, patting with hands.

Bake at 350°F for six minutes. Put chocolate chips over baked mix, spread caramel mixture over chips. Crumble remainder of dough over all.

Bake 15-18 minutes at 350°F. Cut into bars.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
