3 eggs, separated
2 c. milk, scalded
Pinch salt
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg yolks, add salt. Mix cornstarch with sugar, add to yolks, beat well. Add milk gradually. Mix well. Cook slowly until thick. Add vanilla. Pour into baking dish. Add bananas if desired. Beat egg whites stiff, add 1 tablespoon sugar for each egg; pour on top of pudding and brown in oven.
