MICROWAVE CARAMEL CORN | |
4 qts. popped popcorn 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. white Karo syrup 1 stick butter 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. honey roasted nuts Put popcorn into a large brown paper grocery bag. In a 2 quart microwave bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, syrup and salt. Microwave on high until butter melts. Stir. Bring to boil in microwave on high. Boil for 2 minutes. Add baking soda, mix well. Pour on popped corn in brown bag. Close top of bag and shake well. Place in microwave and cook on high 1 1/2 minutes. Remove bag and shake well again. Return to microwave and cook another 1 1/2 minutes - remove and shake again. Pour onto cookie sheet to cool. Store in an airtight container. If you like nuts, add at the last microwave cycle. Freezes well. |
