FRESH PEAR CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 c. cooking oil
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. cut-up, peeled pears

Combine sugar, eggs and oil; beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; add to sugar mixture, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla, cinnamon, and pears. Pour into 10 inch greased bundt pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for one hour. Remove from pan after 10 minutes and continue cooling on rack. Cover with confectioner's sugar frosting if desired.
