SAUSAGE BREAD | |
1 lb. bread dough, thawed if frozen 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage 1 med. onion, chopped 1 tbsp. salad oil 1 egg, beaten Saute sausage meat in skillet with onion (remove meat from casing, if necessary). Drain and let cool. Punch dough down and shape into a flat circle. Sprinkle sausage mixture over dough and knead well. Shape into a ball and pat out into a mound about 8-inches in diameter. Place on baking sheet and top with oil. Let rest 30 minutes, then brush with beaten egg. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. Makes 1 loaf. |
