NEW ENGLAND BREAD PUDDING 
1/2 (16 oz.) loaf day old bread (8 slices)
3/4 c. raisins
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
4 c. milk

Tear bread into 1/2 inch pieces and place in 3 quart casserole. Pour boiling water over raisin and drain. Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add milk and beat well. Mix raisins and bread pieces in casserole. Pour milk mixture over bread and raisins. Bake at 325 degrees. Bake until when knife inserted half way between center and edge comes out clean, about 1 hour.
