ORIENTAL BARBECUED RIBS | |
4-5 lbs. pork or beef ribs 1 tbsp. salad oil 1 can (1 lb. 4 oz.) crushed, undrained pineapple 2 cloves pressed garlic 1/2 c. Kikkoman sauce 1/2 tsp. ginger powder 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 c. light brown sugar 1 c. Seven-Up 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper 1/4 c. cold water Cut ribs to form individual portions. Place ribs on a shallow baking pan. Add oil, pineapple, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, crushed fresh garlic, ginger, salt, black pepper and Kikkoman sauce together. Allow this mixture to marinate overnight. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees until almost tender 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Drain off fat. Combine cornstarch with cold water in small bowl and stir into sauce mixture. Cook, while stirring, until thickened. Spoon sauce mixture over drained ribs. Increase oven temperature to 425 degrees and bake ribs until nicely glazed -- about 30 minutes. |
