NUTMEG COOKIE LOGS 
3 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 unbeaten egg
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. rum flavoring

Sift together flour and nutmeg. Cream butter; gradually add 3/4 cup sugar, creaming well. Blend in egg, vanilla and rum flavoring; add gradually to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly.

Shape piece of dough on lightly floured surface into long rolls 1/2 inch in diameter. Cut in 3-inch length. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Bake until light golden brown; cool.

Spread frosting on tops and sides of cookies. Mark frosting with tines of fork to resemble bark. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Makes 8 dozen.

FROSTING:

Cream 3 tablespoons butter with 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon rum flavoring. Blend in 1/2 cup sifted confectioners sugar alternately with 2-3 tablespoons undiluted evaporated milk, beating well after each addition until spreading consistency.
