NUTMEG COOKIE LOGS 
ream 1 cup butter, gradually add 3/4 cup of sugar, creaming well.

lend in:

1 unbeaten egg
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. of rum flavoring
1 tsp. of nutmeg

Gradually add 3 cups flour, mix thoroughly. Shape pieces of dough on lightly floured surface into long rolls 1/2 inch in diameter. Cut into 3 inch lengths. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes, until lightly brown. Cool. Spread frosting on top and sides. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Makes 6 dozen 2 inch cookies.

FROSTING:

Cream 3 tablespoons butter with 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and 1 teaspoons rum flavoring. Blend in 1/2 cup of sifted confectioners sugar, beating well. Add 2 cups additional confectioners sugar, alternating with 2 or 3 tablespoons undiluted evaporated milk or cream. Beat well after each addition until spread consistency.
