YALE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. Brazil nuts
1 (7 oz.) pkg. pitted dates, bite size
3/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. maraschino cherries (red)
1/2 c. maraschino cherries (green)
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Line loaf pan with wax paper. Place nuts and fruit in a bowl. Measure flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into sifter. Sift over fruit mix in bowl. Beat eggs until fluffy. Add vanilla. Add egg mixture to fruit mix. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 275 degrees. Wrap loaf in foil. Pour 1 teaspoon of brandy on loaf for five days. Then wrap tightly and keep refrigerated. Slice as needed.
