1 can stewed tomatoes
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 qt. milk
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter

Put tomatoes in boiler and cook for 15 minutes. Put milk in another boiler to heat, do not boil. Have tomatoes and milk to same temperature. Add soda to tomatoes. Mix milk in and add butter, salt and pepper. Do not let boil.
