BURGERS MONTEREY 
1 lb. lean ground beef
4 oz. Kraft Light Naturals Reduced fat Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
2 tbsp. chopped green onion
1 tbsp. finely chopped jalapeno peppers (optional)
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
4 whole-wheat hamburger buns, split, toasted
Lettuce leaves and tomato slices

Preheat electric broiler (not necessary to preheat gas broiler). Mix together meat, cheese, green onions, peppers and salt; shape into four 1/2-inch-thick patties. Place patties on rack of broiler pan so tops are 4-5 inches from heat. Broil 4 minutes on each side or to desired doneness. Fill buns with lettuce, tomatoes and patties. Yield: 4 servings. Prep time: 10 minutes. Cooking time: 8 minutes.
