HUNGARIAN GOULASH | |
3 lbs. stew beef, 1 inch cubes 1 lg. onion, sliced 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 c. olive oil 1 1/2 c. water 1 c. catsup 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp. packed brown sugar 2 tsp. salt 3 tsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. dry mustard Dash red pepper 1/4 c. cold water 2 tbsp. flour Cook and stir beef, onion and garlic in oil until beef is brown. Stir in 1 1/2 cups water, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, paprika, mustard and red pepper. Heat to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 2 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Shake 1/4 cup cold water and the flour in jar. Stir gradually into beef mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly for one minute. Serve over hot noodles. |
