SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CHIP COFFEE
CAKE
 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 to 2 tsp. cinnamon
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter
1 (18 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Use a greased tube pan for baking. Sift flour, add baking soda, baking powder and salt; sift again. Cream the shortening with the sugar in a large bowl. Add the eggs to creamed mixture and mix well (use electric beater); add vanilla.

Slowly, add alternately the flour mixture and the sour cream, mixing well after each addition. Add chocolate chips.

Prepare topping by combining brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Pour half the cake mixture into prepared baking pan; sprinkle evenly with half the cinnamon mixture. Add the rest of the cake mixture and sprinkle with remainder of topping. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour. It is done when cake tester comes out clean.
