GERMAN COFFEE CAKE | |
NUT MIXTURE: 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1 tbsp. cinnamon Mix together in a small bowl. BATTER: 4 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. butter, melted & cooled 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sugar 2 c. sour cream 1 tsp. salt In a large bowl, beat eggs at medium speed until frothy. Add sugar and vanilla and beat until smooth. Add melted butter and sour cream, beat until blended. Add flour, baking soda and powder and salt. Beat at low speed until smooth. Spread half of batter in large oblong greased pan, sprinkle evenly with half the nut mixture. Top with remaining batter, then nut mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. |
