CRUSTLESS APPLE PIE 
6 med. tart apples
1/3 to 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. water

Peel apples and cut into eighths. Cook with cinnamon, water and sugar until partially done (10 minutes). Then place in deep greased 9-inch pie pan. 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and brown sugar; add dry ingredients working it in with hands until completely mixed. Sprinkle over apples in pie pan. Bake about 45 minutes in 350 degree oven. Serve plain or with whipped cream or ice cream.
