BAKLAVA 
Cut in half crosswise to make a 9x13 size.

FILLING:

4 c. walnuts, ground - can also use pecans or almonds in part
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 tsp. cloves

Mix together in large bowl and set aside.

Melt 3/4 pound of butter.

To assemble: Put a few tablespoons melted butter to cover the bottom of 9x13 pan. Put in 4 sheets fillo. Nuts, sprinkle to cover

Add other layers have 2 sheets fillo. Butter and nuts. When the nuts are gone, put 4 sheets fillo on top and pour the rest of the butter on.

With a sharp knife score in diamond shapes, not cutting all the way to the bottom. Bake in 350 degree oven until golden brown, 30-45 minutes. Remove from oven, set on wire rack and prepare syrup.

SYRUP:

3 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
3 tbsp. honey
Grated rind of 1 sm. lemon

Bring to a boil; simmer 10 minutes. Pour slowly over cooked Baklava. Let set overnight. Cut along the cuts already made and serve.
