3/4 lb. melted butter 1 lb. Filo dough FILLING: 1 lb. walnuts, chopped 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/3 c. sugar SYRUP: 2/3 c. water 2 c. sugar Dash of lemon juice Arrange Filo in jelly roll pan. Pour melted butter between each sheet. Use 1/2 package of Filo on bottom (about 12 sheets). Spread nuts evenly over Filo. Layer rest of Filo on top of nuts. Spread with melted butter. Cut in diamond shapes. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour; cool completely before removing from tray. Freezes well. |
