OATMEAL CAKE 
CAKE:

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. oatmeal

FROSTING:

1/4 c. melted butter
6 tbsp. milk
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

CAKE: Pour water over oatmeal and let set 20 minutes. Add rest of ingredients, beat well. Bake in greased 9x13 inch pan for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.

FROSTING: Mix all ingredients and put on top of cake. Put under broiler until brown.
