DILL PICKLES 
Put dill and a clove of garlic in jar. Fill with cucumbers. Add in each jar:

1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. alum

13 c. water
6 c. dark vinegar
1 c. canning salt

Pour hot over cucumbers. Seal tight and put in canner of boiling water. Cover and let sit overnight.
