PRUNE CAKE 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. salad oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. cooked prunes
1 c. nuts

Sift first 4 ingredients into a large bowl. Mix the next 5 ingredients well. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Add cooked chopped prunes and add 1 cup chopped nuts. Pour into 9x13 cake pan. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter in saucepan. Add buttermilk, soda, and vanilla. Mix and boil for 2 minutes. Stir constantly. Pour over hot cake and cover. Serve warm or cold.
