RITA'S BACKED BEANS | |
1 lb. yellow eye beans 1/2 lb. salt pork (or bacon) 3/4 c. Gram's molasses 5 sm. onions 1 tsp. mustard Set beans overnight in water, drain in A.M. In the morning put back on stove in water on medium heat, drain, rinse, put in mustard, molasses, onions, salt pork in center and put in water so you can see it. Bake at 400 degrees for 2 to 3 hours. Top is brown and beans are soft. Freeze well also. Check to make sure there is enough water in beans. |
