DUTCH TREATS (DROP COOKIES) 
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Sift these ingredients together. 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. maple syrup 1 c. (6 oz. pkg.) chocolate chips

Combine in top of double boiler over boiling water, stirring occasionally, until chocolate chips melt and mixture is smooth. Cool 5 minutes. Blend in 1 unbeaten egg, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and sifted dry ingredients. Beat well. Stir in 1 cup pecans, chopped.

Drop by scant teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool 1 minute. Remove from cookie sheet. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
