“EASY WHITE GRAVY” IS IN:

EASY WHITE GRAVY 
4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter
4 tbsp. all-purpose flour
salt and pepper, to taste
2 1/2 cups milk

Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour, salt and pepper; cook until smooth and bubbly. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling on medium heat, stirring constantly. Stir and boil 1 minute.

Makes enough gravy for 1 can refrigerator biscuits.

I use this same method to make a cheese sauce for potatoes: prepare as listed about with a little less milk. Then after it thickens but while it is still hot; add about 12 oz. of sharp cheddar cheese. Stir until melted. (I also add a few minced onions then poor over cooked potatoes) I don't add salt until it is done.

First time I was ever able to make gravy that turned out good. Simple and tasty. I did cook it in the same pan that had some peach mango hot sauce on some steak. The flavor came out in the gravy and it was still awesome.

SO EASY! We have a lactose intolerant daughter so I substitued the butter for the Earthgrain "butter" and used lactose free milk for biscuits and gravy... Delicious! Even my son, which is not lactose intolerant LOVED it and asked if we could make it like this everytime.
