TEXAS SHEET CAKE 
CAKE:

1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. water
1/4 c. cocoa powder
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda

FROSTING:

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1/4 c. cocoa powder
6 tbsp. milk
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine butter, water and cocoa in saucepan; bring to boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Add flour, sugar, and salt; blend well. Remove pan from heat and blend in remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10x15 inch pan and bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20-22 minutes or until cake tests done.

To prepare frosting, use same saucepan (no need to wash it). Combine butter, cocoa, and milk. Bring to boil and let simmer 1 minute. Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla.

When cake is finished baking, remove from oven and let stand in pan or rack. Spread frosting over cake while it is still in the pan and while it is still warm. Do not attempt to turn the entire cake out of pan. Great for kids.
