ST. PAUL'S RICE | |
1 lb. hot sausage meat 1 lg. bell pepper, chopped 1 lg. onion, chopped 3 ribs celery, chopped 2 envs. Lipton dry chicken noodle soup 1 c. reg. rice (not instant) 4 1/2 c. hot water 1/2 c. sliced almonds Brown and toss sausage meat lightly; drain. Into the same pan, after sausage is removed, add pepper, onion, and celery pieces. Cover and cook until tender. Add soup mix, water, and rice. Cook 7 minutes on top of stove. Mix sausage meat with vegetable mixture and put into a 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Sprinkle almonds on top. Cover with foil and bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Delicious! |
