JIM'S NUT BARS 
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
3 cups brown sugar
2 medium eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 lb. chopped walnuts
1/2 lb. almonds
1 lb. coconut flakes

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream together butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour and mix until consistency of cookie dough. Add walnuts, almonds and coconut flakes - mix lightly just to incorporate.

Spread on a ungreased half sheet pan and bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes. Do not over-bake.

Note: The edges should be just a little darker than the center. The dough will rise and then fall to make a rich chewy nut bar.
