TEXAS SHEET CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour cream or buttermilk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 18"x12"x1" pan. In mixing bowl add flour, sugar and salt. Set aside. In saucepan bring to boil butter, water and cocoa. Pour hot mixture into flour mixture and blend together. Beat 2 eggs, add the soda and the sour cream or buttermilk. Add this mixture to the flour and cocoa mixture. Pour into prepared pan and bake 15 to 18 minutes. Prepare frosting.

TEXAS CAKE FROSTING:

1 stick butter
6 tbsp. cocoa
5 tbsp. milk
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

In a saucepan bring the butter, cocoa and milk to a boil. Remove from heat, add powdered sugar and vanilla. As you beat mixture add powdered sugar to make it of spreading consistency. Spread frosting over warm cake and sprinkle with chopped walnuts, if desired. Let cake cool.
