DUTCH APPLE CAKE 
CRUST:

1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 egg yolk, mixed with 2 tbsp. milk

Mix together and pat into bottom of 8-inch square pan. Slice 3 cups apples on top of crust in pan.

TOPPING:

3/4 c. sugar (more if apples are sour)
1 1/2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter

Mix together and sprinkle over top of apples in pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. May be served with ice cream or whipped cream.
