DUTCH APPLE CAKE 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 c. milk
3 c. peeled, tart apples, 1/4 inch thick
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg

Mis first 4 ingredients and 1/2 cup sugar. Cut in 1/3 cup butter. Add combined egg and milk and blend well. Spread in greased 10x6x2 inch glass baking dish. Arrange apple wedges in rows in butter.

Brush with 2 tsp. melted butter and sprinkle with mixture of spices and 2 tsp. sugar. Bake in preheated hot oven (400 degrees) 30 to 40 minutes. Cut in squares and serve warm.
