1 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 lg. eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
3 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter flavor
Few drops yellow cake color

Cream together Crisco and sugar until fluffy. Separate eggs, beat whites until stiff. Mix with Crisco and sugar. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and mix with other ingredients. Add remaining ingredients and beat until fluffy. Put in cold oven. Bake 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Over 200 years old.
