WILD RICE 
3 c. boiling water
1 c. wild rice (I often use 1/2 c. wild rice + 1/2 c. brown rice)
1 med. chopped onion
1 stick butter, melted
Salt
6 strips bacon, fried & crumbled
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated

Wash rice, being careful not to lose any, then add with chopped onion to boiling water. Simmer until water is absorbed, about 35 minutes. Now mix in melted butter and Parmesan. This will sit in top of double boiler for hours if necessary. Just before serving, mix in most of chopped bacon and sprinkle rest on top.
