FRENCH ONION CASSEROLE 
4 med. onions, sliced
3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. hot water
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules
3/4 c. croutons
1 tbsp. butter, melted
1/4 c. shredded Swiss cheese
2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese

In covered saucepan cook onions in the 3 tbsp. butter for 5 to 10 minutes or until tender. Stir in flour and pepper. Add water and bouillon granules to onion mixture. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes more.

Turn mixture into a 1 quart casserole. Bake covered in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Toss croutons with melted butter; sprinkle over casserole. Sprinkle Swiss and Parmesan cheese on top. Bake uncovered for 5 to 10 minutes more.
