MEAT BALLS
1 lb. ground beef
3/4 c. grated Romano cheese, little more if desired
1 1/2 c. dry Italian bread crumbs
2 whole eggs
1/2 c. milk, little more if needed
1 clove garlic minced fine, little more if desired
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper, salt to taste
1 1/2 tsp. sweet basil, more if needed
1/4 to 1/2 c. fresh parsley

Mix all ingredients together. Meat ball should feel soft but not so soft that the small balls won't hold together. If too dry add more milk. After they are rolled pan fry only, they do not need to be completely cooked as they will finish cooking in the sauce.

SPAGHETTI SAUCE:

Put 1/2 cup Mazola oil in heavy saucepan. Mince 1 medium onion and saute in hot oil. Add 2 cans of tomato paste (12 ounce) and stir into the hot oil and stir and cook hard and fast for about 10 minutes. This takes away the raw tomato taste. Then add: About 4 c. water, maybe a little more 3 tbsp. salt 1 tsp. black pepper 1/4 c. sugar

Cut up about 7 or 8 cloves of garlic real fine, add 4 bay leaves.
