1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda

Pour boiling water over oats, cover let stand. Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugars, eggs and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Add oats, mixture, mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture. Pour into greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
