AFTERNOON OUT OVEN STEW (WOOD
STOVE)
 
2 lbs. stew beef, cubed
3 celery stalks
2 med. onions
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. tapioca
4 to 5 carrots
4 to 5 potatoes
1 tbsp. sugar
Pepper
1/2 c. tomato juice

DO NOT BROWN MEAT. Combine all ingredients in covered casserole. Carrots and potatoes may be left whole if not too large. Bake at 250 degrees for 4 hours or simmer on top of wood stove 4 or 5 hours.
