GERMAN POTATO SALAD | |
2 c. chopped onion 3/4 c. finely diced celery 1/3 c. bacon fat 1 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 3/4 c. water 1/2 c. cider vinegar 6 c. diced hot cooked potatoes 2 tbsp. mayonnaise 6 slices crisp bacon, crumbled Cook onion and celery in fat 2 to 3 minutes. Cool slightly and add next 5 ingredients. Bring to boil and simmer 1 to 2 minutes. Add to potatoes with mayonnaise and bacon. Toss lightly. Makes 6 to 8 servings. |
