SANDWICH BUNS 
5 3/4 - 6 3/4 c. flour (1/2 white, 1/2 whole wheat)
1/3 c. powdered milk
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. yeast
1/3 c. softened butter

In a large bowl dissolve yeast in the warm water. Allow to sit 3-5 minutes. Stir in 3 cups flour and beat about 100 strokes. Add milk, sugar, salt and butter and beat well. Add remaining flour 1 cup at a time and begin kneading when too stiff to stir. Knead 5-10 minutes.

Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and let rise again until double. Divide dough into about 10-12 balls and shape into buns. Make slash on top of each one. Cover and let rise until double. Brush with butter and bake 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until brown. Cool on racks.
