FUDGE FROSTING 
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate (substitute 6 tbsp. cocoa & 1 tbsp. shortening)
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients except the vanilla in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted and sugar is dissolved. Boil rapidly, stirring constantly for 1 minute or 220 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Place the pan in a bowl of ice water to cool, for about 5 minutes. Beat the frosting until it loses its gloss - for about 8-10 minutes. Spread on cooled brownies.
