HOMEMADE BREAKFAST GRAVY 
3 tbsp. shortening
2 cups self-rising flour
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
2 cups water

Use an iron skillet. Heat shortening to very hot. Add in flour, stirring constantly until dark brown.

Note: If mixture isn't thick enough just add more flour, a teaspoon at a time.

Once the mixture gets to where it looks like its burning add the evaporated milk and water. Using a whisk stir constantly until mixture gets thick with no lumps.

Serves 6.
