SOUTHERN SAW MILL GRAVY 
1 lb. Jimmy Dean regular sausage
1-1/2 to 2 table spoons self rising flour
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion power
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8th teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil/cooking oil
Amount of fresh milk to desired consistency

Using a cast iron skillet:

Brown the Jimmy Dean sausage, drain and set aside. Add oil to the skillet and heat to approximately 400°F. Add Flour and pepper, bringing mixture to a light golden brown while stirring.

When the flour mixture has browned, gradually add milk a little at a time. Mixture must be stirred constantly to prevent over-cooking on the bottom.

Add onion, garlic powder and salt, continue to stir.

Note: gradually add milk while cooking, slight bubbling observed. The amount of milk to desired consistency. Add Jimmy Dean sausage, reduce heat and simmer for approximately 10 minutes while stirring.

Spoon gravy over freshly baked butter milk biscuits and enjoy!
